While the hosts grilled up burgers and kabobs, we set up a display of cupcakes with monochromatic cookie toppers. An adorable personalized lunch station and bar were outfitted with all the standards: lanterns, rope and quintessential summer flowers like hydrangea and coral gladiolus.
We scattered a few untraditional shower games around that were perfect for this co-ed shower. We figure most men don't enjoy the tissue paper-around-the-belly game and most everyone scoffs at the melted candy in a diaper game. We picked "Make a Baby!" where guests were encouraged to grab a mini can of play-doh and sculpt their best baby with the parents-to-be judging the best looking newborn. The guys and girls also played "My Water Broke", a silly little game where we froze mini plastic babies in ice cubes and added them to the beverage station. The first person to notice their melted cube and floating baby yells, yep you guessed it, "my water broke!" and is deemed the winner. Not too complicated, not overly feminine, juuuuust right.
And this post came just at the right time because our guests of honor became parents yesterday! Welcome to the world baby Aurora!
